Rudolf Gonzalez

Rudolf Gonzalez, born February 27, 1955 in Manilla, Philippines, is the oldest son of Rick Gonzalez, famed Filipino artist, and grandson of the late Felix Gonzalez.  He is also the cousin of Hawaii’s foremost seascape artist, Roy Gonzalez Tabora.  His style has developed from their influence, as well as those of artists he admires, namely, Rembrandt, John Singer Sargent, Monet, and Sisley.

A third generation artist from a family with a history of successful artists, Rudolf Gonzalez produces tropical scenes with vibrant colors in an impressive blend of traditional and modern painting techniques                  .

Rudolf’s talents and vision find expression through many mediums and subjects.  The subject of his work include seascapes, landscapes, human interest compositions, still lifes, and portraits.  His skill with charcoal, pencil, watercolor, pastel, and oil permits him freedom to explore his subjects and moods.  Rudolf loves to experiment with mixed media in his art, unbound by “rules of art.”

“There is only one rule, and that is to express oneself in any way or form.  True artistry is when every work I make is part of me and my mood at the time.”

Rudolf Gonzalez’s extensive training, education and experience have contributed greatly to his success in the Philippines.  But more importantly, his family’s rich tradition of artistic excellence has continued to inspire and nurture his natural talents.  His works clearly convey his passion for his art and his skill as an artist.  In portraying Nature he captures the beauty and warmth of the islands in his stunning scenery.
